Where I live Indie means those artists insufferable elitist douchebag hipsters only listen to because they're the only "real" music and everything else is too "mainstream"

But it's mainstream to not like mainstream, therefore the hipster is not a hipster and is actually just more of a loser than you already thought the post-hipster could be :)

ConfusionGrows wrote:Indie doesn't necessarily mean independent in Britain. Radiohead, Coldplay, Blur, even Oasis would all be called indie despite being huge. It's a relic of the 80s when guitar pop and rock were horribly out of fashion and were indeed all on independent labels.

discogs info
blur, coldplay.. radiohead labels: emi, parlophone, capitol records and so on.. very indie!! ehehehe

maybe they are from the time when mainstream bands were actually good and not just plastic products. the majority of the music was high quality. now there's good music and bad music flood.
anyway... I subscribed to coldplay forum some years ago. never went there. forgot the pass!!

it must be amazing to be mainstream. tell the fans to buy your records. the fans buy your records, you say you love them, they believe.. and trend you online. then you go to the movies with the loved one and rent the entire room, so there's no one else there. workout: run away from the paparazzi.

btw I'm not an hipster.

I love their melodies... A lot. They're really great.

I just hate it when people talk about the amazing melodies that KRAFTWERK came up with when referencing to coldplay :|

I know they got permission, but hmrpf.
