Reason MIDI Implementation Chart

Postby DJ Nizmo » Fri May 04, 2012 10:08 am

One suggestion I have for a tutorial would be using the MIDI Implementation chart for Reason, Most of the videos on the site are of using Reason, not everyone primarily uses Reason, and normally have it as a slave to another sequencer like Cubase or Logic etc.

This can cause some problems if you are using the host sequencer and trying to automate something within Reason, I had this problem once where I was trying to automate the Panning of a synth in Reason from Cubase, If I remember correctly it ended up controlling the amplifier on the Subtractor or something.

I know how to do it, just thought it might be an interesting tutorial for others, never made any tutorials myself, and thought it might sound better with Dave's voice rather than my own...... i got a strange accent, and people wouldn't be able to understand me lol

... Can I ask why you're attempting to modulate it outside Reason in the first place? :/

I guess I get that, but I just like reliability more than convenience. Oh well, to each his own I guess.

Actually DJ Nizmo, you should give it a shot. Dave's probably too busy with other things and a lot of us might find it useful for future reference :)

Yeah but I used to live in Cumbria until 2004, and the Cumbrian accent has a bit of Scottish, Lancashire, and Geordie all mixed in, then combined with a stoke accent... just asking for trouble lol

I prefer to use Cubase rather than Reason for sequencing, and I can also record audio in Cubase, as I do not have Reason Record, and prefer some of the effects in Cubase, Reason could really do with some good filters!

I might just do that, just got to find a camera, I know its about somewhere lol, it is quite simple to do really, but if you are not aware of it could lead to some real head scratching lol
