Need new Midi Keyborad!

Postby Tin0 » Tue Apr 24, 2012 10:38 am

Well, here we go again!

I'm going to invest in a new midi keyboard. I have up until to day, borrowed a Novation SL25 MKII, and liked it. But as I also have just invested in some CMC products from Steinberg, I don't "have" to have all the nobs, but they are nice. I know Dave has a video on this, but I would love to have your 2 cents on it.

So, what midi keyboard do I buy?

Thanks,
Tin0

I'm gonna go ahead and recommend the same as usual: M-Audio Oxygen. Works like a charm and is cheap :)

Akai products are fairly cheap, but don't seem to have as many features as the more high end products. They do have a keyboard with pads as well though, which is pretty cool.

Consider what you need. How many keys? Weighted? Knobs/pitchbend/modwheel? Aftertouch? arps, ....

I need weighted or semi-weighted pitchband and modwheel. Love aftertouch too.. :)

What's your budget?

Maybe I helped but most likely I was quite useless. Comment on my tracks to show me how it's to be done! Please?

Well, weighted keys and aftertouch don't always match too well though. Have you looked at the m-audio keystation series?
