Akai EIE + Blue Icicle + Akai RPM3

Hi, I have a Shure PG-42 microphone. Right now I just use the "Blue icicle" audio interface. Would I benefit by switching out the Icicle with an audio interface like this one. I don't really record instruments right now. Mostly vocal tracks.

But I've noticed with the Icicle and the PG-42 that the words aren't REALLY REALLY clear and I want to stiffen them up. Maybe I just need a new mike.

I also had another question about studio monitors. I don't really have alot of money to spend. Right now I have these crappy speakers set up.

Do you think the "3's" would be an alright studio monitor. Or do you think I should just hold out until I get enough money for some KRK Rokits or something. LET ME KNOW!

I would try to get the KRK Rokits. I myself am trying to buy some new KRK's for my home studio. And I think you should upgrade interfaces. Everything would sound ALOT clearer IMO.
