now THIS is something i can get pissed off about -.- i search through freaking youtube and find SOOOO many artists that deserve to make it SOMEWHERE in the music business, then i turn on the dam radio and find 10-20 artists that i have no IDEA how they made it big. UGHHH it pisses me off sooo much ><

I think a part of it is the age group of the listeners they're gearing their music towards. Most of the people on the internet do have a very spacific mindset:

Dubstep fan: LOLFAGS THIS IS S00 GAY. THE BAZZ DIDN'T DREWP @ 0.55 SO NOW I CAN'T MAKE DA JOK3 FAG
Metal fan: THIS GAYFAGGY METAL IS A GAY PIECE OF CRAP, IT'S NOT EVEN HEAVY. THEZ FAGG0TZ NEED TO G3T A GF ROFL THUMBS UP IF YOU'RE THE 301st VIEW!!!!!!11!one

And as such the labels (who care mostly about the amount of money they get and less about the music they produce) want to fullfill the wants of these viewers and as such make music for them instead of music for people who like... well music...
